SELECTION POLICY

Goodwill Protection Services only employs guards that have a valid South African ID, PSIRA certification and has a SASSETA training certificate. All guards are screened to ensure that they have a clean criminal record and financial history.

The Company keeps all the relevant original certificates of all guards in his/her personnel file at Head office.

All Protection Officers are expected to meet an acceptable standard in the following areas:

  • The ability to communicate clearly in English
  • The ability to read and write
  • Personal appearance
  • Personal hygiene
  • Personal health

TRAINING OF PROTECTION OFFICERS

All Protection Officers are registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA). Goodwill Protection Services is a member of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority and complies with the following:

  • Employment Equity Act (EEA)
  • Skills Development Act.
  • Security Industry Sectoral Determination,
  • Labour Relations Act (LRA),
  • Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCoEA)

CODE OF CONDUCT

All Goodwill Protection Services personnel shall conform to the following principles:

·         They shall be neat and clean and their uniform shall be in excellent condition and appropriately worn.

·         Whilst in complete uniform and on duty, officers shall not assume a slouchy or lounging posture, whether sitting or standing.

·         The Supervisors shall at all times maintain a professional appearance; and all our event officers adhere to the following:

  • Smoking is strictly forbidden in public.
  • Guards shall never smoke whilst attending to patrons or clients.
  • Eating is strictly prohibited in public view.

SITE INSPECTIONS

Management visits all sites at least twice a week.

During the visits the following are checked:

  • The appearance of the guard.
  • Knowledge of his job description
  • Knowledge of his site and surroundings
  • Knowledge of the tenants and their habits.
  • A short Competency test is given and used for further evaluation when new sites come on board.

The supervisors must visit each designated site once during day shift and twice during night shift. We have control measures in place to ensure proper site visits are done and that the reports actually have meaning.

Goodwill Protection Services will enter into a SLA as well as pre-agreed job description with the client with penalty clauses included.
